The Malta University Historical Society was officially founded in 1978 by Professor Andrew Vella – although it originated in 1963 – with the aim of encouraging the study and appreciation of history, especially at tertiary level. Whilst aimed directly towards undergraduate and graduate historians, it is open to all those who love history and who wish to further its study. Once every two years the society publishes the widely acclaimed journal, Storja.
